Love Life throughout Childhood

Have you ever had a crush on someone? I know I have. Every individual eventually has a crush in some point of their life. Whether they are 18 or 13, everyone, no matter what age, will have special feelings for someone they meet. It might have took years to know that you were in love with them, or it might have just been love at first sight. It doesn't matter if you have a crush, that's one of the cool parts about being a kid. You feel like it means something, when it’s really just a heavy friendship. You want to be in love when you’re a kid, you feel like being loved is the most important thing in the world. When actually it’s just a side that comes with life. You don't need love to have success in your life, you need good friends. In this fantasy, love is expressed through Tom's friends and family.
I didn't really enjoy reading this book, because of its old fashion, but the parts with Becky and Tom were fun to read. If Tom didn't have a crush or any romantic scenes in this book, I would probably fall asleep before I could even finish it. The mode of this book overall, was Romance. Their was a minor conflict with Becky and Tom but in the end there was a symbol of life. I was glad that Tom had a love life, it gave me something to look forward to. The romance of this book, kept my reading on track.
Before Tom had met Becky, he had known and been with a girl named Amy Lawrence. He loved Amy Lawrence but as soon as he met Becky, that all changed. The first time he had spotted Becky, he was passing by the house where Jeff Thatcher lived. She was standing in the garden, dressed in a small white summer frock, her long blond pig tails blowing in the wind and her little blue eyes as soft as the gentle waves of an ocean. In this chapter they described her very beautifully as if she was an angel. In Tom's perspective she was. Once he had observed Becky, Amy flew out of his head. She had no longer mattered, he now loved Becky. It seems strange to me how Tom can immediately fall in love with someone by just looking at them, shouldn't you get to know the person first? I guess he was determined that Becky and him were destined to be together forever.
In this book, Tom had many adventures with Becky, they even got engaged. It was noon recess, they had been sitting on the bench, having an interactive conversation. Then Tom accidently brought up his past love Amy. As soon as Amy leaves him mouth,  Becky gets mad that he was engaged to someone before he had met her. She thought that he still had a place in his heart for Amy. He tried to make it clear to her,  that he didn’t care for her anymore, but she didn't buy it. Tom tries to cheer her up by giving her a jewel, as a gift, but she was so upset she threw it on the ground and cried. Now, Tom was with rage because Becky threw the jewel on the ground. He probably thought that she didn’t like it, but she was just so upset that she couldn't control herself. She tried to catch up with him but Tom Sawyer was out of sight.
While everyone is at church, they are all wondering where Becky and Tom are. They both seem to be lost. A man announces that they were still in the cave. After the word cave was heard, everyone began to weep and cry, hoping that Becky and Tom were safe. Three days, and nights of toil and hunger in the cave, eventually Becky and Tom soon discovered. They were bedridden all of Wednesday and Thursday, and seemed to grow more and more tired as time passed. Becky did not leave her room until Sunday because she had been going through a wasting illness.
Everything, past that, had been going great for Becky and Tom. They remained a couple and still very close friends. Even through their ups and downs, they managed to stick together and have the best time possible. That's how friendship works. Remember, everyone has crushes, it is just a side of childhood. It wouldn't be normal if a person didn’t have strong feelings for another person, in at least one period of their lifetime. Have fun while you're a kid and wait until you’re an adult to live out an adult's life. For now, just be crazy, creative and use your imagination.  Childhood is Romance.  Romance is childhood. Love Life is both.

Tom Sawyer: Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Becky and Tom have a fight
By: Peyton Behrends
At the start of the chapter, Tom and his friend Joe Harper are in the classroom and are supposed to be reading. Instead, they play with a tick. They are waiting and pleading for noon recess, when they can go outside and enjoy the fresh air, and play with their friends. Suddenly, the teacher comes up and strikes them on the shoulders. It’s harsh how teachers disciplined students back then. I’m glad it has changed; otherwise I’d have a ton of bruises everywhere.
Finally, when the bell rings, everyone sprints out the door, and heads outside. Tom headed over to Becky and told her to meet him in the lane. When they are together in the lane, they sit on the bench. Tom asks Becky if she wants to be married to him, and get engaged. She says yes and they kissed, to make it official. They promise that they won’t love or marry anyone except each other and that they would walk with each other to and from school and that they will “choose” each other at parties. Whatever that’s supposed to mean. Now they were officially engaged. They don’t know that in a couple of minutes they will be in a fight. That’s why now- a- days you don’t get married until you are at least 21. No one would be able to handle a marriage at such a young age. A crush is fine but not husband and wife.
Accidentally, Tom brings up his past love Amy, and Becky gets upset that he was engaged to her before they were. Tom tries to cheer her up by saying “Don’t cry Becky, It was a mistake, I don’t care for her anymore”. He even offers her a gift, a jewel, she was so upset she through it onto the ground, which made Tom angry. Tom leaves school and never returns that day. After Becky cries and cries and cries, she feels bad for Tom and calls out his name. No answer. She returns sobbing with no reply or sign of Tom Sawyer.
I thought this chapter was very important because it has to do with Tom's love life. I love to read romance. It also had a dash of action, which prevents it from being boring. This chapter was one of my favorites, and I thought it was one of the more interesting. This book reminded me of all the adventures and fantasies you have when you're a kid. Even when you get in trouble,  you eventually weave your way out of it. You go to your own little world where nothing exists except you and your friends. No rules just fun and games. Some adults to this day wish they could go back and rejoice being a kid. While you're a kid, embrace it while you have it, because, before you know it, you'll be an adult on your own.

Halloween

All was calm and peaceful that night. No lights to be seen on that Halloween night. Until, that is, trick'r'treating starts, then all goes wild. Kids in their colorful costumes, carrying pillow cases and baskets, hoping to get a bunch of candy. They usually do. Then on the way to each house, sneak a piece and enjoy the delicious taste. Then when they get home they feel like they didn't get a lot, because their pillowcase is only a fourth full. They don't realize that they had a bunch while they were gathering them. Some parents are very active and answer the door a billion times a night and don't get any rest. Unlike, the other adults who are to lazy, and just put a bowl full of candy outside, so that when only 1 person comes by, they end up grabbing the whole bowl. Trust me it's not fair when you don't take the whole bowl, but you rethink that when your the person, then it's fine. To tell you the truth, I don't know what Halloween is supposed to be celebrating, I think it goes back to the day of the dead, originally from Mexico, but I could be wrong. Even though I don't know what Halloween celebrates, I believe Halloween is just a night of creativity, when you can go out in your obnoxious costume, get candy, and have loads of fun.

A Fun Quote

Sometimes I pretend to be normal but it gets BORING so I just go back to being me.

Patriotism Still Matters and Always Will

`                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Does patriotism still matter?

Patriotism is love and devotion. It requires time and effort. It takes courage and loyalty. It is the one word that describes work for ones country. Patriotism still matters and always will.
When I think of the word “patriotism” I think of all the people that live in the United States. Patriots are the ones in our country who respect and admire are veterans. My definition of veterans is the ones that have fought in war to help the country and the people in it. Whether they were in the army, in the marines or the air force they are all equally spectacular and deserve the respect and attention, of us patriots. Our veterans have done so much for our country; they have sacrificed not only their time but their lives to fight, just to keep us safe and free. If it wasn’t for our veteran’s or present \soldiers, we would not have the rights or the freedom, we have today.
If I could grant one wish, it would probably be peace within America. No war. No fighting. No rage or anger. No depression or sadness. Think of how great the world would be without these things. How wonderful and joyful it would become. Sadly, we can’t avoid things; they are emotions which we can’t make disappear. But what we can do is to our advantage. We as a country can change that. Just by being respectful and patient towards others, we can change their moods. If everyone had a good mood and a smile on their face we would become an even stronger country, not in war, but in citizenship itself.
Every day, as I stand and recite the pledge of allegiance at school, I come to the thoughts that lead me to patriotism and citizenship. It is that time of the day that you are honoring and showing respect to our flag, which represent our country, America. These thoughts remind me of how great and miraculous are veterans and soldiers really are. The pledge is the one thing in the day that everyone should respect and give their full attention to. In those fifteen seconds of speaking the pledge, you become a better patriot every day.  This process shows everyone around us how much we think of our American Heroes.

This is an essay we were assigned to enter in a contest.

Forest

In the forest, nothing in sight, only trees so high and mountains so tall.  Wondering how nature could be so beautiful.  Wondering what living animals have crossed by. Suddenly, I hear gentle, soothing, birds. Then suddenly I spot about 8 of them on the top of a big, thick, branch, singing. Then I hear I higher pitched voices from the other birds on the tree across from the other. Now I began, to here monkey's communicating also. As I watched, so amazed, I kept spotting different animals come out of different places. Communicating to each other throughout the whole forest. As I observed I realized that animals are a lot like humans. They have their feelings and emotions, and flow through life just like us. And you say " Were you scared of any of the animals?" . And I'd say no, they're just like us, with a reason to live life. I have never seen something so amazing in my life. They are my inspiration. They made me realize that no matter what or who you are, you are all the same, and can all come together and have a good time.

Just a journal entry I decided to post.

Place of Peace

Waves rolling up a shore, over tiny rocks, and smooth, soft, golden sand. I sat on a bench, below the sand, listening as the soothing sound of waves went through my head.  This is the place I had come to think, it is the place that I call peace. In this place it is quiet and relaxing and the place that I enjoy most. I can come here, whatever my emotion, happy, sad, confused, focused, upset,  anything that crosses my mind can be solved in this place. If only this was a real place, but as you least expected it just me in front of a wet window, watching the grey, rainy sky on a Saturday afternoon. Imagination is the key to my peaceful place.

A journal entry I decided to share with you guys. I was very pleased with this piece.
