Sometimes I pretend to be normal but it gets BORING so I just go back to being me.

Patriotism Still Matters and Always Will

`                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Does patriotism still matter?

Patriotism is love and devotion. It requires time and effort. It takes courage and loyalty. It is the one word that describes work for ones country. Patriotism still matters and always will.
When I think of the word “patriotism” I think of all the people that live in the United States. Patriots are the ones in our country who respect and admire are veterans. My definition of veterans is the ones that have fought in war to help the country and the people in it. Whether they were in the army, in the marines or the air force they are all equally spectacular and deserve the respect and attention, of us patriots. Our veterans have done so much for our country; they have sacrificed not only their time but their lives to fight, just to keep us safe and free. If it wasn’t for our veteran’s or present \soldiers, we would not have the rights or the freedom, we have today.
If I could grant one wish, it would probably be peace within America. No war. No fighting. No rage or anger. No depression or sadness. Think of how great the world would be without these things. How wonderful and joyful it would become. Sadly, we can’t avoid things; they are emotions which we can’t make disappear. But what we can do is to our advantage. We as a country can change that. Just by being respectful and patient towards others, we can change their moods. If everyone had a good mood and a smile on their face we would become an even stronger country, not in war, but in citizenship itself.
Every day, as I stand and recite the pledge of allegiance at school, I come to the thoughts that lead me to patriotism and citizenship. It is that time of the day that you are honoring and showing respect to our flag, which represent our country, America. These thoughts remind me of how great and miraculous are veterans and soldiers really are. The pledge is the one thing in the day that everyone should respect and give their full attention to. In those fifteen seconds of speaking the pledge, you become a better patriot every day.  This process shows everyone around us how much we think of our American Heroes.
